Mono Ethylene Glycol, commonly referred to as Ethylene Glycol Antifreeze but also referred to as Ethane-1,2-diol, MEG, EG and Industrial Glycol. Ethylene Glycol was first formulated in the 1850s and is now commercially produced through a chemical reaction between Ethylene Oxide and a catalyst. Large scale production of Ethylene Glycol commenced in early 1900s in the USA and it is now produced in huge volumes around the Globe.
